MY approach

Relational, actively present, & culturally-sensitive

We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.
— Anaïs Nin

I have dedicated my work to people who have felt unseen, unheard, and alienated. I am here to let you know: I see you, I hear you, and you matter. My goal is to provide a shame-free, judgement-free environment that encourages honesty and openness.

Being trained as a couples and family therapist, my perspective is geared towards relationships. I don’t see therapy as a sterile, clinical process. Therapy is a period of authentic engagement and connection between you and I. While I want to know more about your past, present, and hopes for the future, I strive to a be a real person who is also focused on the experience we have of each other—our relationship, client and therapist.

I am an active participant in sessions; I ask questions and provide feedback. I will challenge you to expand your perspective and reflect on your beliefs. I am interested and curious about different parts of your identity and how they interact with the world around you. We often hide parts of ourselves depending on the environment around us and I believe therapy is a way to integrate these parts so that they are not hidden by shame or fear of judgement.

My therapy and coaching practice is influenced by the perspective that having insight will get you closer to your goals, but you need action to take you the rest of the way.
